Your First Visit to Our Broomfield Practice

It is our foremost desire that you will find our office to be very warm, comfortable, and inviting. The minute you walk into our office you will be greeted with a smile and by name. As you may expect, we will need you to complete a health history questionnaire, this will take approximately ten minutes. However, in order to save your valuable time, we highly recommend that you print off and fill out the new patient form that can be found on this website. Once your file has been put together you will meet with one of the doctors either Dr. Craig or Dr. Ryan. This is a time for you and the doctor to discuss your history, current status, your health goals and what things you want to be different in the future. Once Dr. Warhurst understands your needs and desires, he will clearly explain what we do, how we go about it, and what you can expect.
If the doctor feels you are a good candidate for chiropractic care, the next step is an examination. In the examination we will be checking several components of the nervous system for spinal malfunctions called subluxation. A subluxation is probably the most common spinal injury and results in nervous system interference which robs the body of its ability to function, heal and regulate like it should. It also creates a disruption to the flow of intelligence from your brain to your body; it interferes with your Mind-Body connection. If you have subluxation chiropractic will be able to help you and you will love what we do.
The chiropractic examination in our office is focused on discovering interference to the nervous system in the form of subluxation. To clearly identify the interference to your nervous system we use technologically advanced computer equipment called the “Insight Subluxation Station.” This equipment has passed rigid accuracy standards and has been certified as space technology by The Space Foundation co-founded by NASA. This examination involves several important components, such as surface electromyography, thermography, range of motion, and heart rate variability. Each of these tests and their importance are explained as we perform the examination.
Another important component of the exam is when the doctor will palpate or feel each segment of your spine for subluxations. He will be observing how the different joints of the spine are moving, and identifying areas of increased muscle tension. Depending on your history and what we discover in the exam Dr. Warhurst may need to take x-rays to see exactly what is going on with the architecture of your spine to see how we can best help you. X-rays help determine approximately how long the problem has actually been there, demonstrates any degeneration present and thus allows us to be more accurate as to our recommendations for your care.
Once the exam and x-rays are completed we are typically finished for the first visit. On a normal basis the first visit takes 45-60 minutes. The last things we will need you to do are take care of your charges for the day and schedule a time for the report of findings. The report of findings is where we will be going over all of your results and what we can do as a team to get your body functioning better.
