Many people do not realize that poor posture can have a bad effect on their health. Chiropractors know that poor posture can result in tension headaches (as well as other symptoms). Chiropractors note that improper sitting, especially in front of the computer, can lead to tightness of the muscles in the neck, back and shoulders. This muscle tightness in the long run can lead to nerve irritation and spasms that restrict the flow of blood to the head, leading to tension headaches.
Poor posture can also make it more difficult for a person to breathe. Hunched back, rounder shoulders and an imbalanced spine, contribute to rib cage expansion which constricts the movement of the diaphragm. This in turn affects the normal breathing process, as the inability of the diaphragm to rise, makes it difficult to draw oxygen during inhalation.
Poor posture can also make a person look older. People who have good posture appear to be younger and more robust compared to those who have hunched backs. Poor posture can also result to a person developing unsightly marks like potbelly and double chin. A person who has good posture also looks taller and slimmer compared to those who have a bad posture. Good posture also suggests self-confidence.
Poor posture has long been associated with back pain. Poor posture can cause muscle strain especially in the lower back. When the spine is not properly aligned due to poor posture, the muscles, ligaments and discs of the back are under constant stress. Reduced strength of the muscles makes it difficult for a person to keep the spine in its proper alignment.
Poor posture does not only ruin one’s appearance but also has a negative impact on the spine.
Chiropractors remind everyone to practice good posture because of the many benefits it can give to any person, and the chiropractors in Broomfield are all skilled and experienced to help with not only the effects of poor posture but also the correction of it.

Chiropractic care has undergone several changes since DD Palmer founded it in 1895. It has evolved not just as curative (able to cure something, typically disease) branch of healthcare but also as a preventive healthcare. In recent years, chiropractors have integrated many methods with the traditional spinal adjustment therapy to promote wellness among their patients. These methods include nutritional supplementation, stress management, regular exercise, massage, homeopathy, among others.
From these changes and evolutions, three types of chiropractors have been recognized. One type of chiropractor is the “mixing” chiropractor who employs different approaches to treatment such as physical therapy, nutrition, diet, electrotherapy, and ultrasound. Another type of chiropractor is the “reform” chiropractor who relies mainly on manual approaches to treatment like touch and manipulation to pinpoint and cure disorders such as painful joints and osteoarthritis. Reform chiropractors are not focused on looking for displaced spinal vertebrae like traditional chiropractors. This makes reform chiropractors more aligned with medical doctors.
The last type of chiropractor is the “straight” chiropractor who focuses solely in correcting misaligned spinal vertebrae. This type of chiropractor is considered as the traditional chiropractor who believes that spinal subluxations (misalignment of the vertebrae resulting in interference of nerve energy from the brain to the various body parts) are the cause of almost any ailment.
Chiropractic care has considerably evolved but this only shows how flexible chiropractors have become in addressing the needs of their patients. It is not surprising that today, chiropractic care is the third largest healthcare profession in the United States- quite a feat from the humble beginnings it had.
Those living or working in Broomfield, can seek out a chiropractor of their choice to help them along their journey to better health and vitality.

Chiropractic care has been around for over a hundred years, yet it is only now that people in Broomfield and elsewhere, are starting to realize how beneficial it is for their health.
Broomfield chiropractors, like chiropractors the world over, employ a holistic, natural approach to the treatment and wellness of their patients. Chiropractors can employ a combination of various techniques, the most popular of which is spinal manipulation. This is a gentle procedure that has the chiropractor applying pressure on specific points of the spine, with the goal of bringing back the natural alignment so that the communication system between the brain and the rest of the body is unrestricted and thus results in proper function.
Chiropractors also advise their patients to lead a healthy lifestyle by regularly exercising, eating the right types of food, getting enough sleep, and managing stress.

Chiropractic care may sound new to some people, but the truth is that it has been around for more than a hundred years in its modern form. In fact, the ancient Chinese and Greeks have long suspected that adjusting and relaxing the lower extremities can help in curing back pain, as shown by writings, even centuries before the birth of Christ. Even the father of modern medicine, Hippocrates, once wrote about how the spine can be associated with different ailments.
Chiropractic as a healthcare, was started by 1895 by Daniel David Palmer. After seeing that therapeutic massage on the spine can ease a person’s condition significantly, D.D. Palmer, established a chiropractic school in 1897. Palmer School of Chiropractic still remains one of the more popular chiropractic colleges in the United States.
Residents of Broomfield, along with millions of people world wide, have expressed the numerous benefits of regular chiropractic care to their health.
In 1979, a report in New Zealand strongly backed up the claims of chiropractors on chiropractic care principles and generated medical cooperation to chiropractic care.
In 1993, another study, published this time in Canada, proved how cost effective chiropractic care is compared to traditional medicine. The study showed that regular chiropractic care can save millions of dollars yearly as chiropractic care does not require surgery and prescription drugs to treat patients.
Today, chiropractic care is practiced in more than 70 countries. The World Federation of Chiropractic is the official global organization that links national associations of chiropractors from these countries.
A chiropractor can be found here in Broomfield as easily as elsewhere. It is estimated that in the US alone, 65,000 doctors of chiropractic are practicing their profession.

Chiropractic care espouses the principle of natural healing. Chiropractors know that the human body has the innate capability to heal itself of various ailments, aches and conditions. Thus, chiropractors will never use a drug or surgery in order to correct a health problem. Instead, chiropractors make sure that the body is properly functioning so that it can heal itself naturally, without relying on drugs and surgery (and thankfully, not be subjected to the harmful effects of such treatment).
Chiropractors in Broomfield, as well as the world over, know that symptoms like pain, aches and discomfort are just part of different reactions of the human body. Pain is a way for the body to know that there is something wrong. Pain however, should not be considered the health problem itself. After all, it is just a symptom. Thus, chiropractors do not focus on alleviating the symptoms of a disease, but more on addressing the root cause of it. When the cause is corrected, the symptoms lessen or even disappear on their own, naturally.
Also note that the use of drugs may cause more harm than good in most people. Aside from causing side effects, drugs are not able to cure diseases, they just suppress the symptoms- the signs of the disease. These diseases include vascular diseases and cancer- all considered as silent killers since their symptoms do not manifest until often times, it is too late.
Likewise, the Journal of Medical Association has reported that adverse reactions to drugs can actually cause detrimental effects on one’s health. Even the World Health Organization notes that good health not only hinges on the absence of illnesses, but also involves physical and mental well-being- two areas that chiropractor is most interested. Thus chiropractors in Broomfield and the world over, not only look at treating an ailment but also ensuring that a person has a well-functioning body that can stand up against viruses and other disease-causing elements.

Chiropractic care was founded by an osteopath- DD Palmer. The Canadian osteopath, founded chiropractic care after manipulating (gently moving the misaligned bones of the spine back into place) the spine of a deaf janitor, who worked in the same school where he was employed. Dr. Palmer heard a popping sound during the manipulation and the hearing of the janitor was then restored.
In the early days of chiropractic care, it was labeled as unscientific by the American Medical Association. Medical doctors did not want the competition. Especially once it was discovered that chiropractors help people restore their health and functionality without drugs and surgery. In 1987, the American Medical Association ate humble pie when it lost its battle against chiropractors.
Since then, chiropractic care’s popularity skyrocketed to the point that it is now considered the third largest healthcare profession in the western world. It is not only practiced in the US, but in more than 70 countries. Chiropractic care mainly focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal system such as back pain, shoulder pain, arthritis, migraine, muscle strain, and pinched nerves.
Since chiropractors do not prescribe any medications, there are no drug side effects to be concerned about. Everyone from infants, to athletes, to the elderly, can benefit from the natural, safe and effective techniques, offered by chiropractors.
Chiropractic care is available here in Broomfield, CO. for those that live or work locally, and wish to take a more conservative approach towards their healthcare.

Spinal stenosis occurs when the spinal canal narrows, which may be down to a variety of reasons, including mechanical problems brought on by age, thickened ligaments, infection, abscess, developmental or congenital abnormalities, degenerative changes, dislocated or fractured vertebra, or a spinal cord tumor. Low-back pain, limping, and numbness in the legs can result from stenosis, although not always because it is often a degenerative condition that may be in evidence for years without causing any noticeable symptoms. What can trigger symptoms is some sort of trauma, perhaps a fall, that then creates pain characteristic of stenosis.
Understanding the history of the symptoms, performing a physical examination, and conducting imaging tests provide the information needed to make a diagnosis of spinal stenosis. However, an MRI scan does not provide an accurate prognosis for how the condition may develop; a better indicator is an electrodiagnostic study of the spine. Where the stenosis is suspected of being caused by an abscess or infection, blood will be taken for analysis. In the case of a suspected tumor, precise imaging of the spine is necessary to confirm diagnosis.
The cause of a person’s stenosis will largely dictate the treatment options, which fall into three main categories:
The bad news is that stenosis is a chronic condition and there is no cure. The good news is that the condition can be treated and ameliorated for better long-term health prospects and overall quality of life. A doctor of chiropractic can play a significant part in the management of stenosis.
